Long Barn Lodge is a family owned 20 room motel (+ 10 cabins) in the foothills of Northern California with fantastic views of the Stanislaus National Forest; and we even have our own pool and ice rink - the only one in the county! Iconic for generations, this is a place where everyone from Tuolumne County (and beyond) learned how to ice-skate. Families remember having their reunions here, people got married, celebrated anniversaries and fell in love. This place is a hidden gem in the Sierra Nevadas and we’re so happy that you’ve somehow stumbled upon us.
We just changed ownership + management in December 2021 so we’re incredibly blessed and lucky to be here running this business in the county that one of our managers, Alex, was born and raised in. Sam (the new owner of the LBL) grew up skating up here + wanted a place for his family and others to be able to relax and unwind at. A place to make memories and spend time with loved ones without the distractions. His dream was to make this special place a community hub, mountain oasis, and an opportunity for those who come and stay to connect with nature and appreciate the simple things.
First built in the 1920’s, The LBL had a lodge with a restaurant and bar at the front of the property. That burnt down in the early 2,000’s… but don’t worry! Over the next couple of years we’ll be rebuilding that! In the meantime we’re beginning on renovations to the motel + cabins over the coming months.
Close to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, Pinecrest Lake and Leland Meadows Snow Play, we are the PERFECT location for your getaway. There are big lawns, a volleyball net, horseshoes, and our big pool and lounge areas to relax at if you’re wanting to stay put.
The Sonora Pass is officially open for the season so head on up the hill to visit Pinecrest Lake, go do some put-put golfing down in Twain Harte, or lounge by our pool!
